MISO is an independent, not-for-profit, member-based organization focused on managing the flow of high-voltage electricity across its region, facilitating one of the world's largest energy markets, and planning the grid of the future. Our mission is to manage the reliable delivery of low-cost wholesale energy for distribution to the 45 million people living in our region. MISO keeps the power flowing reliably and at the lowest possible price every day. We do this by working collaboratively and transparently with our stakeholders to enable the reliable delivery of low-cost energy through efficient, innovative operations and planning.
