INvets FAQs
For Veterans and Spouses
Anyone who has served in a branch of the U.S. military is a veteran to us. We will work with all veterans, regardless of how much time they served.
Absolutely. We work just as hard for spouses as we do for veterans, and they have access to all the same resources.
We can. We’re happy to work with you no matter how long you’ve been out of the military, and the fact that you’ve already been working in the civilian world does not disqualify you from using our services.
You’ll be directed to one of our Veteran Engagement Team members for general questions. If you need additional assistance becoming job ready, we can refer you to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development and their Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) Program. The JVSG Program can assist with career counseling, resume building, mock interviews and coordinating supportive services, as well as other job ready services.
Please fill out everything you possibly can. The more information you provide, the higher the likelihood an employer will contact you.
You will hear from our veteran engagement team shortly. If you are a disabled veteran, someone from the Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program (DVOP) should be in touch within a few days.
The best things you can do are start exploring industries, career paths, job openings, and all the great opportunities Indiana offers. Also, once you apply for a job, be sure to click the “I Applied” or “Let Us Know You Applied” button so we can help you land it. And be sure to check out our resources page, too.
The only organizations that will access your information are INvets and employers unless you permit us to share your information with organizations that offer additional veteran services. Prospective employers should not send you spam emails or attempt to sell you anything; please let us know immediately if this does happen. With your permission, we may also share your information with educators.
For Employers
We’re an organization that partners with the state of Indiana to cultivate our veteran workforce. We work together with veterans and their spouses to connect them with great careers they can take pride in. Our team also works directly with employers to help make these connections and show them all the benefits of hiring veterans.
When you register with us, you’ll get access to our sizeable veteran talent pool to help fill your open positions. You’ll be able to view candidates’ resumes from military bases throughout the country, and we’ll help connect you with suitable veterans based on your needs, easing the burden on your hiring managers. We’ll also help you identify all the benefits of employing veterans.
The state does not currently have relocation assistance. However, certain counties have varying incentives for veterans that relocate to their communities.
We have sponsorship opportunities and rely on this support to conduct outreach, but employers and veterans have access to all our resources at no cost.
Contact us or sign up through the website to start the registration process.
Start by completing your company profile. More information is always better for potential job candidates. Once you’ve done that, browse through available candidates and take a look at applications. Then we can start putting you in touch with the right people.
One of the best things you can do is come with us to visit military bases around the country. These visits are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Yes, we would love to share our expertise. We are happy to provide a presentation explaining what a partnership with INvets looks like and why veterans can be an excellent fit for your organization.
Next Level Veterans is an umbrella effort sponsored by the state of Indiana, designed to attract servicemembers to the state and, in the process, connect them with the training, employment, and resources they need. INvets is a significant component of this effort.
Since we are focused on attracting talent to Indiana and are funded by the state, we don’t advertise jobs outside the state. However, we ultimately want the best fit for veterans and their families—so if that means somewhere outside of Indiana, that’s fine with us.
