INvets is proud to be named one of the first three organizations recognized by the Hummingbird Charitable Foundation for its dedication to supporting veterans in Indiana. Founded by former Second Lady of the United States Karen Pence, the Foundation will honor INvets, Indy Honor Flight, and the Indy Warrior Partnership at its inaugural fundraising luncheon on March 27, 2025, at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.
This recognition underscores the importance of helping veterans successfully transition to civilian life and highlights the significant impact of INvets’ mission. Since its inception, INvets has partnered with over 600 companies across Indiana, connecting skilled veterans and their families with meaningful careers while strengthening the state’s economy. To date, INvets has placed over 1,200 veterans and family members in Indiana, including 491 new residents this past fiscal year.
“INvets is deeply honored and greatly appreciative to the Hummingbird Charitable Foundation for this generous opportunity,” said Sarah Harrison, INvets President & CEO. “We look forward to a great partnership that highlights the meaningful careers and opportunities available for veterans and their families in Indiana. This recognition inspires us to continue our mission of ensuring our transitioning military thrive in civilian life.”
Supporting Indiana’s Veterans
The Hummingbird Charitable Foundation’s luncheon will also honor two other organizations making a difference for Indiana’s veterans:
- Indy Honor Flight – which has flown over 3,700 World War II, Korean, and Vietnam wartime veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials dedicated to their service.
- Indy Warrior Partnership (IWP) – a branch of America’s Warrior Partnership, works to improve the quality of life for veterans in Central Indiana, connecting them with resources for housing, employment, healthcare, and more.
“We’re excited to shine a spotlight on these incredible organizations,” said Karen Pence, Founder of the Hummingbird Charitable Foundation. “They represent the very best of what Indiana has to offer our veterans, and we hope this event will inspire others to support their missions.”
How to Get Involved
The fundraising luncheon provides a unique opportunity for companies and individuals to support these organizations. Tickets are available on the Foundation’s website, with proceeds going directly to the programs that help veterans thrive in Indiana.
Together, with the support of Hoosiers, we can continue to make Indiana a state where veterans and their families succeed and call home.
